Alice In Chains: Rainer Fog è il nuovo album in uscita il 24 agosto! Ascolta qui il nuovo singolo So Far Under

Dopo aver pubblicato il singolo "The One You Know", gli Alice In Chains annunciano “Rainier Fog”, il nuovo ed atteso album di studio in uscita il prossimo 24 agosto. È il primo album della band registrato interamente a Seattle dopo più di vent'anni.

A cinque anni di distanza da "The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here" la band, tra le più iconiche degli anni '90, è pronta a tornare sulle scene musicali più in forma che mai.

Il secondo singolo tratto dall'album è "So Far Under", pieno di quella ruvidità che ha caratterizzato la produzione degli Alice In Chians negli ultimi anni.

Alice In Chains sono estremamente soddisfatti di “Rainier Fog”. A proposito del nuovo disco Cantrell afferma, in una recente intervista, “It’s a record we haven’t done yet, but it’s also a record that has all the elements of anything you would expect from us. It’s got our fingerprint. And we’re really proud of the material we wrote and the performances we captured. There’s some really heavy sh*t, some really ugly stuff, some really beautiful stuff, some weirdo trippy sh*t…it’s good. We wait until we’re ready and until we have material that’s up to the Alice In Chains standard and then we do what we do. This is the racket we make when we get together.”

William DuVall, voce e chitarra della band, dichiara invece, su “So Far Under”: “It’s about feeling completely up against it – outnumbered, surrounded, facing seemingly unbeatable odds and being really pissed off about it. It was inspired by personal circumstances, as well as events in the wider world. But it’s not as resigned to defeat as it may seem. The lyric is a cold, hard assessment of a difficult situation but the music has a message all its own. There’s still room to flip the script. Every aspect of writing and recording this song will always be remembered with a lot of joy – from recording the basic tracks and the guitar solo at Studio X in Seattle to doing further overdubs at Nick Raskulinecz’s studio in rural Tennessee. Everyone in the band and our studio team really stepped up and knocked it out of the park on this one. We’re extremely proud of this song and the entire album.”

“Rainier Fog” segna un nuovo passaggio nella vita discografica della band: oltre ad essere il primo album dopo cinque anni di silenzio, è anche la prima pubblicazione su etichetta BMG e, last but not least, il primo lavoro dopo venti anni ad essere interamente registrato a Seattle, città natale della band (il titolo del disco è un omaggio alla città). Registrato agli Studio X, lo stesso in cui Alice In Chains registrarono l’omonimo album nel lontano 1995, “Rainier Fog” vede alla produzione Nick Raskulinecz (collaboratore di lunga data) e Paul Figueroa, e Joe Barresi al mixer (Queens of the Stone Age, Tool).

“Rainier Fog” arriva a cinque anni di distanza dall’acclamato “The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here”, entrato direttamente al n.1 della Billboard Alternative Album Chart e della iTunes Rock Album Chart.
