I Green Day hanno tenuto uno speciale concerto di capodanno la notte tra il 31 dicembre e il 1° gennaio al Viper Room di Hollywood. 

La band di Billie Joe Armstrong, Tré Cool e Mike Dirnt si è presentata sul palco con il side-project The Coverups reinterpretando 22 grandi classici della storia del rock: dai Nirvana ai Ramones fino a David Bowie e The Cure.
