Blur, pubblicato il nuovo singolo St. Charles Square! Ascoltalo qui e guarda il video

I Blur hanno pubblicato il secondo singolo estratto da The Ballad of Darren, il nuovo disco di inediti della band di Damon Albarn in uscita il prossimo 21 luglio su etichetta Parlophone.

Si intitola St. Charles Square e, assieme al brano, è stato rilasciato anche il video ufficiale, diretto dal regista Toby L.

Prodotto da James Ford e registrato allo Studio 13 a Londra e nel Devon, The Ballad of Darren è il nono album in studio della band, il loro primo dopo The Magic Whip del 2015, con la cover del fotografo britannico Martin Parr.

Damon Albarn ha dichiarato: “Questo è un album di assestamento, una riflessione e un commento sul punto in cui ci troviamo ora".

Graham Coxon ha detto: “Più invecchiamo e più ci arrabbiamo, diventa sempre più essenziale che ciò che suoniamo sia carico della giusta emozione ed intenzione. A volte un semplice riff non basta".

Alex James ha invece ribadito: “Per far durare una relazione a lungo termine con un qualche significato, bisogna essere in grado di sorprendersi a vicenda in qualche modo e in qualche modo tutti noi continuiamo a farlo".

Per Dave Rowntree invece: “È sempre molto naturale fare musica insieme. Ad ogni album che facciamo, il processo rivela qualcosa di nuovo e ci sviluppiamo come band. Non lo diamo per scontato".

I Blur suoneranno in Italia il prossimo 22 luglio al Lucca Summer Festival alle Mura Storiche, un concerto firmato Virgin Radio.
