C’è chi dice che i soldi non comprino la felicità, ma Todd Boehly sembra non essere d’accordo. Il miliardario americano, presidente di Eldridge Industries e co-proprietario del Chelsea FC, lo ha dimostrato l’11 dicembre affittando il Capitol Theatre di Port Chester, New York, e chiamando alcune delle più grandi star del rock mondiale per un concerto privato riservato a soli 250 invitati.
Per l’occasione è nata una superband estemporanea, The Dirty Bats, composta da Slash e Duff McKagan dei Guns N’ Roses, Chad Smith dei Red Hot Chili Peppers e dal produttore Andrew Watt. Sul palco si sono alternati nomi del calibro di Eddie Vedder, Anthony Kiedis, Brandi Carlile, Yungblud e Bruno Mars.
Nulla urla “punk rock” più forte di rockstar milionarie che suonano classici ribelli per un pubblico di hedge fund manager, broker immobiliari e venture capitalist. La scaletta ha incluso cover di band simbolo dell’anticonformismo come The Stooges, Black Flag, Dead Boys, Motörhead e Nirvana, accanto a pilastri del classic rock firmati Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath e Jimi Hendrix.
Un evento esclusivo, irripetibile e probabilmente memorabile per chi era presente.
